Cupcake Bouquet

So this morning I had some amazing ladies come over and take some photos of Mia. As a thank you to the WONDERFUL Shandee (www.shandeegoulding.com) for coming to take Mia's photos, I made a cupcake bouquet. It was my first attempt and I did learn a few things, but overall I think it turned out pretty darn cute! I'll be making more of these, I'm sure of it!

Happy Birthday one and all

My friend Michele celebrated a birthday the other day and I decided to bake her a cake and bring it in to her work so she could share with the office. The cake was a huge hit. I used a new recipe for my buttercream frosting and I'm pretty sure it's a KEEPER. I love it. The cake was a golden yellow cake with buttercream frosting...decorated in pink because that's Michele's FAVORITE color. (She actually got married in a pink wedding dress!!!)

Birthday invitation...

I designed a couple of invitations for Mia's birthday. I had a hard time choosing at first but Paul chose his favorite and I just got them printed and mailed out... Here's the 'winner'...

Especially for you...

Here's a cake I made for my sister in law, it's a 3 layer 6" round french vanilla and chocolate cake with a chocolate buttercream frosting. The french vanilla cake was dyed pink so that the inside was pink and brown(3 layers of cake, 2 layers pink, 1 layer brown) The flowers are royal icing.

Christmas Present - to eat or not to eat

One thing I strongly believe in - at the end of the day, cake is cake...no matter how good it looks.

I made this cake for a pot luck Christmas dinner my husbands work was having. I was so excited to make it and he was excited to bring it in. BUT no one wanted to cut into it. What a waste it would be if no one ate the cake. So, finally someone cut into it and people moaned and groaned... let's not forget...the best part of cake, is eating it!!!!

Chocolate cake with candy cane frosting and fondant ribbon and bow.

Triple chocolate birthday cake...

Nothing says birthday like a special cake made for a special someone. This is a red velvet cake, with chocolate ganache and chocolate truffles. Made with love for my Mom's birthday!
