I was asked to do a cake for a Habs fan... from his kids. Something simple. This is what I came up with... it's peanut butter pound cake, vanilla buttercream and fondant accents.

Basketball Birthday
This was a fun cake to do! It was for a joint birthday/basketball end of year party. The cake is chocolate chip swirl, filled with chocolate buttercream covered in vanilla buttercream with fondant accents. The 'bleachers' have 'fans' sitting in them (sprinkles) holding signs with the birthday boys names. Basketball nets are made of fondant and toothpicks.

Golf - drunk Tiger Woods
I've gotten some pretty fun and crazy requests and I think this one fits into that category. A drunk Tiger woods. Seriously? I had quite a bit of fun with this one! Top tier is peanut butter pound cake with ganache filling and chocolate buttercream. Bottom tier is coconut cake with coconut buttercream.

Fisherman Cake
It's super late so this is going to be a quick post BUT I had to post because I'm so excited. I've been talking about make a lightbox for a while now. Something that I could take photos of my cakes in so that they turn out better. We had the perfect box aside but I just never did it...well tonight I decided to do it since I have so many cakes this weekend and while I still need to play with it some, I'm SUPER pleased with the outcome. All of the following photos were taken inside my lightbox.
As for the cake, it's fudge marble with chocolate buttercream covered in fondant with fondant and modelling chocolate accents. The boat is chocolate the man is fondant. The client ordered this cake for her father's 70th. She specified that he would go fishing in jogging pants and a tshirt, with a pack of blue cigarette's in his breast pocket and wore a knights of columbus ball cap. I tried to do it justice. :) Happy Friday!

Rock Climbing
Here is my 5th and final tester cake. Again, another fantastic learning experience. It's Banana Chocolate chip cake with Chocolate buttercream covered in marshmallow fondant. The girl is made of modelling chocolate (never again will I use modeling chocolate for 'people') and so are the letters BAILEY. It's my first time carving a cake, swirved like that. (Also known as topsy turvey/whimsical style) That was interesting. Not so much the carving but covering it with fondant! Hopefully the birthday girl is happy with it. If anything, I hope she likes the taste of the cake. :)

Hockey Cake
I finally got my first hockey cake. I've been waiting for it, I figured I'd get one eventually. The client asked for a large 'puck' with a small ice surface on top with a player shooting on another player. The cake is Chocolate chip swirl, with vanilla buttercream covered in marshmallow fondant. Except for the hideous plastic hockey players, I like how this cake turned out. Who would have thought trying to find hockey players would be the hardest mission yet. I could have made them from fondant, but my fondant 'people' aren't exactly perfected quite yet. I should practice though...I'll get right on that.
Have a great weekend!

Basketball Cake
I don't think I shared this one when I did it. I did it fairly quick and wasn't altogether pleased with it, but I'll know what to do differently next time. Nevertheless, it's a chocolate fudge with buttercream frosted cake. Yum.

Golfer Birthday Cake
I was asked to do a golfer cake. I was given quite a few instructions, I even got a sketch. I think it turned out ok. The person sank into the cake a bit too much, but otherwise I'm pleased.
The cake is mocha fudge, with buttercream and some marshmallow fondant embellies.
